all that spending was making me feel slightly ill –
making me crave a time when life was simpler.
a time when people had time to build things.
and time to bake things.
with this in mind, on tuesday i baked myself a house.
a delicious golden gingerbread house.
it was a simple dwelling, uncomplicated in design but big on flavour.
unfortunately it didn’t last long –
destined, it seems, to be a holiday house, not a long term rental.
it did, however, provide the necessary respite from my retail fatigue,
and for that i salute it!
(or i would if i hadn’t already eaten it.)
