winter warmth

to me the words fruit + crumble are synonymous with winter warmth.

this past weekend i was feeling a little tired, a little stretched
and in definite need of some extra cosiness –
and fruit and oats seemed to be just the remedy.

the beauty of a crumble is that it is a bit of a fruit bowl/pantry-staple
kind of dish – just about any combination of fruit when topped with an oaty-cinnamony crumble, proves comfortingly delicious and reassuringly warm.

luckily last weekend the fruit bowl was full and yielded a particularly tasty combination of strawberries, apple and rhubarb.
topped with brown sugar and cinnamon crumble and a dollop of thick greek yoghurt, it was just the extra warmth my weekend required.

thank you fruit. thank you oats.
